Spring is the season for renewal and new beginnings, as well as letting go of what no longer serves us. It is the perfect time to recommit to a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Winter and Spring months can leave you feeling groggy and lethargic. Swing into Spring in this workshop, with the use Ayurvedic (the sister science to yoga) lifestyle tips, you’ll rediscover your energy and motivation with appropriate asana and breathing practices; and adapt your menu to the lighter spring season (think lean and green!).
Katy Keyes has been a teacher in Savannah Yoga Center’s Yoga Teacher Training Programs since 2008. She is a working Licensed and Board Certified Massage Therapist, and a 500 hour Yoga Alliance Registered Instructor. She is a Certified Instructor of Perfect Health (Ayurveda) through the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, CA.

Couple’s Toolbox for Labor & Delivery with Ann Carroll, certified Labor Doula, Hypnobirthing Instructor

This hands-on two hour class is designed for a mom and her spouse, partner, friend, mom, or whoever will be supporting her during labor and delivery.It’s a unique and fun way to prepare for this special time. We will talk about the different stages of labor and delivery and which comfort techniques are best at each stage. Participants will learn a “toolbox” full of hands-on comfort measures including breathing, massage, positioning, pressure points and much more from a labor doula. Plan to bring an exercise ball with you.

Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Certification with Ann Carroll All Levels Welcome APRIL 7-9, 2017 $250/$300 after March 31st
Yoga is extremely beneficial for Moms-be be. Yoga teachers, Yoga teachers currently enrolled in SYC’s 300 hour teacher training program, midwives, OB’s, L&D Nurses, Doulas and Moms-to Be are all invited to explore ways that yoga can assist pregnant women through this roller-coaster time in a woman’s life.
If you want to support women through all of the stages of their lives and immerse yourself in the study of yoga for motherhood this program is designed for you. Throughout this weekend training you will explore and develop the skills necessary to help others with their pregnancy and birth through yoga.
In this program you will: Gain knowledge of which traditional yoga asanas are useful during pregnancy and ways to modify those postures. Discover pregnancy and labor specific asana postures. Learn contraindications and how yoga postures can be adapted for each trimester. Dive into the anatomy of pregnancy and how yoga can address specific discomforts associated with pregnancy. Explore the emotional, social and psychological needs of pregnant women to help them find peace and balance. Understand ways to foster mother & baby bonding and provide a supportive yoga community amongst pregnant women. Learn important relaxation and breathing techniques for mothers-to-be.

Ann Carroll, RPT, E-RYT 500, CLD, CCCE has been teaching Pregnancy Yoga for the past 16 years and is also a Labor Doula and Childbirth Educator. She loves sharing the magic of yoga with people in all stages of life. She has taught in a variety of settings and for a wide variety of student populations. Ann started practicing Integral Hatha Yoga® in the early 90’s as a way to combat stress in her job and personal life. After realizing the astounding benefits relating to stress and the workplace, she chose to attend a four week live-in teacher training at the Satchidananda Ashram near Buckingham Virginia in 2000. Once that program was completed, she began to teach classes in a variety of settings, with the goal of sharing the gift of yoga.
In 2001 she attended another two week teacher training at the same facility specifically addressing bringing yoga into an office or boardroom setting. Subsequent trainings at The Kripalu Institute in Massachusetts and the AshvilleYogaCenter prepared her to teach Pregnancy Yoga. She is honored to teach that modality because of the incredible benefits her students have experienced before and after delivery.” She is a 500-Level Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, a member of the Integral Yoga® Teachers Association and founder and member of The Savannah Area Teachers of Yoga Association (SATYA). She organized Yoga Celebration Day in October, 2004 in Savannah Georgia and Yoga for Peace on September 6, 2006 and September 8, 2007 in Savannah Georgia. Ann has participated on the teaching staff of Savannah Yoga Center’s 200 hour teacher training since the program’s inception in 2007. She has also assisted in a number of Teacher Trainings at Satchidananda Ashram.
As an addition to her Pregnancy Yoga practice, Ann became certified as a childbirth educator in January 2007, a Labor Doula in December 2007 and a Hypnobirthing® Instructor in 2012. Restore, balance & renew to move from Winter into Spring. Essential oils are the lifeblood — or prana — of the plant. Explore a restorative class with breath, sensation, and stillness using the very essence of plants that are designed to move stagnant energy, detoxify the body, calm the mind, relax the body and restore equilibrium. We will explore several different oils as we move through a gentle yoga practice focusing on the breath and leading into deep relaxation. As we restore and balance the body, we begin to experience our true nature which is peace.

YTT 200 hr, 24 Day Intensive: July 7-July 30, 2017

You will have the time of your life, learning, growing, transforming and creating new friendships and strong bonds with your fellow peers in the program. The work will be rewarding, hard and fun! You’ll be paired up with one of our amazing teachers as your mentor and be required to observe, evaluate and assist in yoga classes.
The program is 6 days a week with one day off each week. Plan on 1-2 hours of engaging and exciting daily studies outside of the program hours. The 11 required YTT books will be the start of or additions to a wonderful yoga library.
*Tuition: $2597 Save $400 on *tuition (regularly $2997) when paid in full before June 1, 2017.
APPLY NOW! A deposit of $450 is required to hold your place in the program and will be deducted from the total.
Payment Plan Available: Break the rest of your tuition into 3 payments of $849, with payments due the first three Mondays that we meet.
Applicants must have an established asana practice for a minimum of 12 months. This means practicing physical yoga 3–6 times a week, either in public yoga classes and/or at home. *If you are a military spouse, you may qualify to have your YTT program paid for in full with educational benefits of up to $4,000 with MyCAA, a career development and employment assistance program offered by the military for military personnel and their spouses.
Refund/Cancellation Policy Please make sure you’re making a wise decision for yourself and your life before you commit to the program. A full refund less $500 will be issued if cancellation occurs more than 10 days before the YTT program start date. No refunds within 10 days of YTT program start date. No refunds if a student withdraws after the program begins. 9 students minimum are required in order for this program to be offered. If SYC cancels the YTT training, a full refund (including deposit) will be issued or students will be offered a transfer to another program.
