Intro to Stillness Meditation with Jeannie Kelley with GUEST TEACHER Sun, Nov 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
November 18 2018
2:00 - 3:00PM
$15 suggested donation

Stillness meditation is a body-based consciousness practice that supports heart-opening and presence in a grounded, centered, expanded way. It is an exercise that helps us return to our natural inborn state of wisdom and relaxation.

This meditation comes from the Biodynamic Cranial Touch training, an evolution of the traditional osteopathic lineage and legacy of Dr. William Sutherland. It specifically relates to what he termed "Primary Respiration" and "The Breath of Life", which are the inherent biological and universal forces that create, maintain, and also heal us.

Anyone is welcome to join. There will be some general basic guidance along with plenty of silent time to drop in as well as room for discussion.

This is a donation-based offering. We request that you refrain from wearing perfumes or fragrances, and please arrive a few minutes early and settle in so we can begin on time. Thank you.

Jeannie Kelley is a Rolf method and craniosacral practitioner who has been in private practice since 1986. Formerly a personal trainer and exercise fitness instructor, she has most recently lead therapeutic yoga classes, facilitated drum circles, guided meditation groups, and assisted in teaching a variety of continuing education courses for bodyworkers.

Faith Hunter began her practice of yoga and meditation in the early 90s as a way to cope while her beloved brother Michael was dying from complications related to AIDS. From that day forward, she committed herself to sharing these practices with the world.

Always eager to learn, explore, and share, Faith has been teaching since 2003 and is an inspiring and generous mentor to wellness practitioners of all skill levels.

With a BS degree in Marketing from Grambling State University and an MBA from Loyola University, Faith is the Owner and Creator of Embrace Yoga DC, a yoga and wellness center located in Adams Morgan – a multicultural nest of Washington, DC. She is also the architect of Spiritually Fly™, a life philosophy that celebrates every moment of life, and uses the technology of breath, movement, sound (chanting & music), and stillness, in a fresh and modern way to encourage students to live an epic life.

Her passionate teaching style is heavily influenced by Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa, and various forms of meditation. A next-generation teacher Faith blends Classic yogic principles and real-world occurrences into an integrated experience that is grounded, radical and unforgettably Spiritually Fly™. As a creative spirit, Faith is also a writer who has merged her love of poetry and meditation into numerous projects. Her latest is Shades of the Soul: A Meditation Journal (releasing April 2018), that blends her original poems and daily inspirational thoughts.
