Sara (music therapist) and Kelley (500hr ERYT) are excited to share with you how to pair music, mantra and your voice as a means to connect with the Divine through the practice of bhakti yoga. Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of devotion. Mantra songs and Kirtan (call and response singing) are one of the many forms of Bhakti. Mantras can be used as a guide through the ups and downs of live. In Sara’s music therapy work with hospice patients, she has witnessed the power of music to heal and soothe the spirit.
Kelley will lead you through a short practice of yoga postures to open up the throat, chest, lungs and upper back in preparation for singing and exploring your voice. Followed by a mantra lesson and a kirtan, call and response singing experience with Sara.
Bring an open heart and mind and come dressed for yoga. You will leave this workshop feeling grounded in spirit and with a deeper understanding of the power and sweetness of bhakti yoga; the yoga of devotion and mantras.
